Overview
This sentimag infographic animation explains how the widespread use of radioactive tracers for cancer treatment is compromised by safety restrictions throughout the manufacture, transporting and use of these products. Only hospitals that have nuclear medicine departments can handle radioactive materials and offer these procedures.
Endomag’s answer to this is a harmless tracer made of iron oxide nanoparticles – 50nm in diameter – enabling both large metropolitan hospitals and small community clinics to offer biopsies, with no half-life limitations and none of the scheduling issues faced by the current techniques.
